GR 92 (21): Sant Climent de Llobregat - Garraf

Stage Previous <<

The GR 92 and leaves behind the Barcelona area and enters this stage in the Garraf massif, to its highest point, the Morella, although the metropolitan landfill next to it takes a lot of charm.

I went from Sant Climent, to have better communication to the shrine of Bruguers, start of the stage according to the guide FEEC. That is longer (about 21 km.), But can do well in half a day, and that has little unevenness. Similarly, can be combined with variants Coll GR 92-3 of the Clota to Castellet and GR 92-4 Querol Vilanova i la Geltrú addition to the many roads and routes of Garraf Natural Park. The only thing to keep in mind is that there is very little water and the area is full of potholes and caves, so do not leave the road (more than one has disappeared into the bowels of the mountain). It is also advisable not to try this stage in the warmer seasons, from May to September. Track

theoretical 1:50.000 county map of the ICC. I got the real track Wikiloc (here) ,
although I modified some points do not conform to toured in the fall of Morella Querol and Pleta to Garraf

output
Sant Climent de Llobregat, is one of the few "people" who remain in the area metropolitan, with a calm city improper. In fact, it is hard to come to stop here if not sought specifically. It comes from Vilamoura, with frequent buses

Shortly after starting from the Coll de la Creu already see the first goal of the day, the Castell d'Eramprunyà

But there is still a while, meanwhile The GR goes through cherry orchards along the Coll de Can Bori ...

... and falls after a track through the forest up to ca n'Amat, important country house of 1,741, located next to the Torrent de la Font del Ferro

Here is a detour the right to gain altitude toward urbanization and Bruguers chapel, under the watchful eye of the castle ...

... and passing first through the Font del Ferro, where rich water flows ditto ...

reached

... After a careful short climb the shrine of the Virgin of Bruguers (s. XI), mixed Romanesque Gothic, one of the most emblematic
Gavà

Over here across the road to Begues Gavà, yet is an oasis of tranquility. We entered and in the Parc Natural del Garraf

Now comes a stretch of steep climb. Good views of the Delta del Llobregat, if not for the haze that hides the sun half

GR Foradada passes under the Rock ...

... to reach what little remains of the Castell d'Eramprunyà (402 m.), which already has its existence in the s. X

Even better views of the Delta, on a clear day, because today ... not too

inward Instead it seems that visibility improved slightly: is hard to see the Serra de Collserola, Sant Llorenç del Munt and Montseny mole, far

Opposite guess what will be the second part of the stage: GR Agulles will surround them (right) on the back to reach the ridge and then up to Morella in central

So I bid Eramprunyà in principle down smoothly on a track ...

... until the GR is diverted through a path under llanea Puig de les Agulles

not get to go around, but which derives from the Coll de la Clota point where you start the variant GR 92-3 in the direction of l'Arboç, Olèrdola and Castellet. From here you have easy access to Begues, with public transport. Montserrat looming in the background

GR From this ridge rises to the left towards them Agulles and Morella; not got to the first top because he did not know it was there, but the road is no problem. Instead, it cost me to follow the GR, as initially follows a path and suddenly, without signaling, is deflected by a hidden path through the brush toward the ridge. Once in it, there are good views everywhere poor visibility even touched me, look back to the Castell d'Eramprunyà and Collserola

After

are combined, sometimes track and sometimes half-hidden trail, the vegetation is that which tears the legs. El Puig de les Agulles back, left behind Eramprunyà

At last reached the highest point of the Garraf: the Morella, 593 m.

Vista Vallgrassa to the ravine, where rises the GR 92-4

The truth is that as I walked this stage, a nauseating stench made me want to leave hence running, with the top of the Morella then the dump was located in the Vall d'en Joan or Garraf, ie the principal repository of garbage outside the metropolitan area of Barcelona. Under these lands lie thousands of tonnes of waste. Fortunately, at the end of 2007, proceeded to its final decommissioning. But however much they were perfectly sealed, which has been treated with the most advanced techniques, and that the reclamation project in the area have won awards, I have my doubts that this landscape again be as before ... Only you have to put "doomed (or dump) of Garraf" on Google image search to get an idea of how was this done now 5. Yes, the smell given off can not be conveyed in words or photos, so I do not really want to immortalize came

The GR down from this peak to the south to go for a wider road, which deviates towards the landfill to the fence that surrounds it. There is an asphalted road that goes under the radar located at the tops of Rascle and Turo de l'Alzina Freda. It is an area filled with caves and chasms ( avencs ), because of the calcareous massif, which is why it is dangerous to leave the road, and that any time you may receive an bujero on the ground swallows you ...

The track comes
immediately to the Pla de Querol, where it begins-or ends-the GR variant 92-4, which addresses Vallgrassa Vilanova through the Palau Novella, Khafre and Sant Pere de Ribes. The main route down to the left towards the sea, the bottom of the gully of Vallbona can guess the beaches of Castelldefels

Shortly after passing through the Pleta, information center

natural park

In Next, the small paved road and diverted to Port Ginesta Castelldefels, is another option to finish the stage, although the descent of the GR is prettier

It only remains down by a wide path on the gully de les Coves (and with a huge quarry on the other hand, I also refrain from photographing) ...

... then to watch the final stage

The village of Garraf, Sitges aggregate, the traveler receives the tower holds Güell by Gaudí. After 150 km, the path back along the Mediterranean Sea

A foot soak to finish the stage never goes wrong. Here are a way station of Renfe, which allowed me to go home without complications
