25th Birthday Inventation

Among Cerdanya, Alt Urgell and Andorra: Monturull (2761 m)

The Monturull or Torre dels Soldats is one of those peaks that almost go unnoticed, overshadowed by neighbors as Perafita or Tossa Plana de Lles, but without reaching the 2,800 m, there is usually a busy top, despite its easy access from the Estanys of Pera and the skiing season Aransas. And that despite having a magnificent view ranging from Canigó until Maladetas, including the Cadi, the Cerdanya, much of the Alt Urgell and the eastern valleys of Andorra

The track in Wikiloc

Plan a route from the station Aransas to allow me access to even lower peaks, as Turó puncture or Coll de la Barra, and although I was only 150 m. the Perafita, with a little better physical shape than mine there would be no problem to reach this other vertex. The truth is that I have an innate tendency to stick the sheets to me first thing in the morning, so I started walking about 10am and when arriving at the lorenzo Monturull was already considerable, well, my problems with my knees prevented continuing the tailpiece, so I took a drop sleeve no path from Claror Coll. Following a landmark and a trace of way, it is difficult to be seen on the runway shortly after Estanys of the Pera, right where it intersects with the GR 11.

The problem came in the fall from them until Fornell Pollineres in Aransas station. In principle it is a marked path, but one of those I say goodbye and got into a mess near the river that I could only go through the GPS. So I deleted the last stretch of track from Pollineres them, although the route is "máomeno" which appears in the following map (Alpina Cerdanya 1:50000)

and more data
Profile

leave the car next to the restaurant the Fornell, where tracks begin Aransas and start walking track through thick forest, hovering over any of the peaks that ascend in a few hours

In 20 minutes reach the refuge from Prat Miró, now I can see the ridge of the Serra d'Airy, linking the Coll de Dalt with Monturull and I'm going to go whole

At the crossroads, on the right targets and they Pollineres Estanys of Pera, with tracks linking from the nearby station Lles (also cross-country skiing). Follow the trail on the left, to the Coll de Dalt, pictured to the right of the Llet
Turó

From here you can start looking at it will be the general trend, some views towards the Cerdanya órdago with the Tossa d'Alp in the middle and half-hidden Puigmal left

Late
another 20 minutes to reach the Coll de Dalt. Across the valley wall rises Segre Cadí

The track makes a detour here, you can upload directly through the meadow, and then have to turn right ...

... to start climbing up the hull of the Baga of Fontfreda no trail or landmarks that can guide. Although no loss, just a matter of pulling all the way up

Towards the 2,300
m. reached a meadow is already high at the first summit of the day ...

... and allows an excellent view of the Cadí and Moixeró ...

(click on the cloths to see larger)

... as well as the Alt Urgell and the Segre valley west, to the Coll de la Font d'Aristot

primarily Details on
Cadi, the area of the Canal Baridana; Aristot the bottom, on a small turó and Toloriu in the middle, between meadows

While I'm up, appears behind the trees in the area of Tossa Plana de Lles and Setut , with bovine Tossal the left, in between, the Vall de la Llosa ...

... and Calm Colomer Serra at the bottom, hiding the Puigpedrós; back much farther, Puigmal. Below is the track that I uploaded from Fornell, among the endless forests and Aransas Lles

Finally, the forest area has already gone, leaving the ridge the view that I will go, Serra d'Airy: Turó Punco left, Pic of the Coll de la Barra to the right and center Monturull

First

top the day after almost 2 hours away: Turó Punco, 2,491 m.

From here, the Serra d'Airy with the Serra de Sirvent behind

Again the Tossa d'Alp and Puigmal; even appear in the background and Serra Taga

Catllaràs
Turó
From Punco, the ridge is very flat with very gentle slopes and virtually no vegetation ...

... until after the Coll de la Barra, where it climbs gently to reach the peak of the same name ...

Pic of the Coll de la Barra (2,631 m) in less than an hour from

Punco

reached almost did not see the Seu d'Urgell, in the valley of the Segre. La Serra d'Aubenç right and the far out Montsec

The Monturull and is a stone's throw, and appear for the first time Estanys of Pera to the right, under the Serra de Sirvent, the Perafita in the center. I have my doubts about whether I can overcome that edge, from here it seems sharper than the painting the map ...

The stretch to the Coll de Monturull is simple, earlier the same vein, here is a way out to the Estanys of Pera. From the Coll, the thing climbs a great time ... is less than 150 m. unevenness, but I do sweat so bad, I also start to hurt your knees (as usual), but in the end, each vertex has gained its reward: Monturull or Torre dels Soldats, 2,761 m.

The area of Cerdanya, from Puigmal to the Cadi, even far away can see the top of Canigó

El Kadi opposite the Port del Comte Serra and Coscollet behind the right at the Serra d'Aubenç. In between the Segre
low

The Segre valley to the left, the bottom Montsec, Tossal de l'Orri in the center area of Pallars Monsent right ...

... until the bulk of the Maladeta, very far away, closer to the mountains of Andorra, and the Pic Negre d'Urgell in the first

abusing the zoom
Antaeus and Maladeta

Perafita left and behind the Serra de Sirvent, crowned by the Bovine Tossal ... In this you start to feel like ...

For the Andorran side Riu Claror low, near the shelter free of the same name. Behind them, a lot of summits, they no longer know them

me

I have plenty clear that I will not be the Perafita, I have to go lower than 100 m. Coll Claror up to put them back up ... my knees are not going to afford it. From Monturull, I see that there may be a leak in the same hill towards Claror Bassa and Estanys of Pera, the ground is not very complicated and is far off track

The descent to the Coll Claror is very steep, does not become exposed but at some stage have to support your hands. The climb up to the promises Perafita the same, but reversed

Thus, in the Coll de Claror descend through the grass, trying not to fall flank rolling the first stumble. I headed toward a path trace is more below, which I assume will go to Estanys. On Edge I have come across a group of kids who were not very clear whether or not Monturull up, from below, we see progress slowly

At the bottom of the Coma Claror, I find something like Mordor: a huge rocky, no vegetation, dry and over again ...

Fortunately, the trace he had seen from above is something like a trail, a milestone that helps. The Monturull seen from its base and Claror Coll on the right, with the slope down which I

The land is flatter now, continued amid the rocky, trying not to stray from that path suspected. In the background, Pic Tossal Tailpiece and Bovina, are targeted to the list of outstanding

The trail is becoming more pronounced and will join the stream coming down from the Bassa Claror, suddenly is lost trace and landmarks disappear ...

... but then I see a few feet below the trail of the Pera Estanys; follow a creek down the left and appear just below the Estany Petit

I reach the track and the same place I see signs of the GR 11, which will save me a long socks. Is the variation that goes from Entremesaigües, Andorra, to the Collet de Sant Vicenç and down to Rec Cap de la Vall de la Llosa. The trail parallels the river of Estanys ...

... until he rejoins the track at a height of refuge and recreation area Pollineres them, filled to the brim of cars and people eating at tables and benches, almost had to get ticket cook on barbecues.

Fleeing the crowds, it's hard to find the path that will lead me back to Fornell, following yellow markings ... or trying to follow, as I say goodbye and I went through forest for a while. Luckily I could come back and found one of the ski slopes of Aransas, following it few meters I saw the marks, and returned to Fornell between a leafy hedgerow, with the Tossa d'Alp backdrop

In Fornell could regain strength and fill the stomach, I still had a good palizón of road to home
